Barings Global Public Portfolio Services team has a temporary opening for a motivated individual who would like to join our innovative team of financial professionals.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide regular and ad-hoc support to the investment team and institutional clients.
- Reconcile NAVs, transactions, valuations, management and performance fee calculations, P&L components, and other activity between Barings and the fund accountant/administrator s records on a regular basis to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal Barings stakeholders including direct exposure to other business lines e.g. Portfolio Managers, Sales, Legal, Compliance, corporate functions across the organization, both in Europe and US, as well as supporting effective external working relationships through timely communications with a range of related third parties e.g. TPAs, auditors, investors.
- Working effectively with third-party administrators and internal parties to ensure a high level of service. Raising service issues in an appropriate manner and following issues to resolution.
- Maintaining awareness of client mandates, portfolio governing documents and regulatory restrictions.
- Prepare relevant portfolio reporting as required.
- Demonstrate significant level of expertise of the holdings, terms, and transactions of multiple portfolios to provide intuitive and proactive oversight of these portfolios.
- Leverage professional expertise and relationships to contribute to team strategy.
- Identify process inefficiencies and make improvement recommendations;
Improve procedures implemented, document manual processes and work with relevant parties to reduce/eliminate. - Assist with system implementation and testing as needed.
- Bachelor s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field preferred.
- Experience in Fund Accounting/Portfolio Administration experience.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Previous experience with the Aladdin tool would be a benefit.
- Power BI experience a plus.
- Effective, results oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills; possess very strong organizational and analytical skills; must be very detail oriented.
- Ability to handle high volumes of work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
