The role is a key part of our multi‑state sales and use tax recovery projects, requiring both technical knowledge of tax rules and business‑focused advice to clients.
YourKey Responsibilities
There is no average day. You will work on a diverse array of projects, tasks and responsibilities, delivering up‑to‑the‑minute tax advice that clients can rely on. Your work will be highly collaborative, involving listening to and sharing information with colleagues.
Skills And Attributes For Success- Research client business operations and build long‑lasting relationships.
- Identify applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions.
- Identify potential over payment opportunities or risks and communicate these to clients.
- Monitor current tax law changes to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches for sales and use tax recoveries.
- Prepare and defend sales and use tax refund claims.
- Participate on a motivated team of professionals.
- Supervise a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools.
- A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects.
- Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment.
- An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or the ability to sit for a state bar.

What We Offer- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package rewarding performance and recognizing value. Base salary: $81,700‑$135,000 nationwide; $98,100‑$153,500 for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento). Total Rewards include medical, dental, pension, 401(k) and paid time off.
- Hybrid model: most people in client‑serving roles work together in person 40‑60% of the time.
