Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Risk Manager/Analyst, Financial Compliance
We are hiring Business Analyst with Payments background to join our fast-paced team.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in banking and financial systems, with hands-on experience in payment rails including Wire Transfers (Fedwire & SWIFT), RTP, ISO 20022, and related payment processes.
This role is essential in driving requirement gathering, process improvement, system testing coordination, and product ownership to support payment operations, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $120K - $125K/year & benefits
The Role ResponsibilitiesPayment Business Analysis & Delivery
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Fedwire, SWIFT, RTP, and ISO 20022 payment processing.
- Develop use cases, functional specifications, and user stories for payment system enhancements.
- Partner with Product Owners, Developers, QA, and Operations to deliver effective payment solutions.
- Map legacy payment formats to ISO 20022 message structures for Fedwire Funds Service and international payments.
Process Optimization & Regulatory Compliance
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements in Wire and Real-Time Payments workflows.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and network standards, including Fedwire guidelines and the FinCEN Travel Rule.
- Support fraud prevention, risk management, and AML compliance within payment operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Serve as the primary bridge between business teams and technical teams to align on payment priorities.
- Produce comprehensive dashboards and reports on payment volumes, operational efficiency, and compliance metrics.
- Develop and deliver training materials and user guides for payment system features.
Technical & Domain Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in US payments (Wire Transfers, RTP, SWIFT, ISO 20022).
- Strong understanding of Fedwire, RTP processing, and ISO 20022 payment standards.
- Proficient in SWIFT MT and MX message formats.
- Experience with payment system integrations, APIs, and core banking platforms.
Business Analysis & Project Management
- Proficient in requirement documentation (BRD, FRD, User Stories) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and defect management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in UAT coordination, SQL, Excel, and BI reporting tools.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge
- Familiar with Fedwire processing standards, FinCEN Travel Rule, OFAC screening, AML, fraud detection, and related compliance controls.
