The OpportunityOur Indirect Tax practices manage the largest tax burden for many companies. We guide businesses in understanding liabilities, identifying risks, and aligning tax strategies with broader financial goals.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate business personal property tax renditions and reports within deadlines.
- Prioritize and complete multiple projects across client engagements.
- Collaborate with engagement team members to verify fixed asset, inventory, and supplies data.
- Apply knowledge of tax laws and regulatory guidance with subject‑matter experts.
- Analyze data, identify potential errors, and follow SOPs for escalation.
- Support accurate tax reporting using basic tax concepts and provided guidance.
- Assist in reconciling client accounts and tax filings for timely, accurate returns.
- Identify reconciliation discrepancies and propose solutions to the engagement leader.
- Communicate project status updates and guidance requests regularly to supervisors and team members.
- Support engagement teams by sorting documents, updating logs, and conducting compliance research.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Predicted undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
- Ability to follow standardized processes, ask questions, prioritize assignments, and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
- Curiosity and capacity to observe, evaluate, optimize, and provide solutions.
- Desire for professional growth and technical knowledge of state & local taxation as it applies to Property Tax.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel and work excess standard hours when necessary; travel may be required beyond local area.
- Reliable transportation to EY office and client sites; driver’s license strongly recommended.
- Residence or commutable distance to Charlotte, NC.
Ideally, you will have
- Basic knowledge of tax software applications, tax compliance, and reporting rules.
- Knowledge of firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
