Position: Senior Actuary - Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) SME

Overview

Duration: Long-term, multi-year engagement

Opportunity: Interview directly with the hiring team, no HR or TA steps necessary

Location: 100% REMOTE

Responsibilities
  • Design, code, and certify benefit calculations for new and legacy Group Annuity Contracts (GACs).
  • Interpret legal plan documents and translate provisions into system calculation logic.
  • Configure, test, and validate calculations across Pro Admin and Intelli Pen platforms.
  • Develop and reconcile sample calculations; resolve client and internal calculation issues.
  • Draft, maintain, and update Plan Specifications and BAU calculation documentation.
  • Provide BAU and exception (red/yellow) calculation support for active GACs.
  • Support data migration and deferred benefit calculations, including file design and validation.
  • Act as calculation SME for audits, testing reviews, and compliance activities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Pricing, Legal, Administration, and third-party vendors
Qualifications
  • ASA required; FSA or near-FSA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in PRT annuity administration and benefit calculations.
  • Deep expertise in Defined Benefit plan provisions and complex pension calculations.
  • Experience with Pro Admin benefit calculation configuration and testing preferred; however, experience with other tools such as Benefits

    IQ, Pension Soft, Altair, Pension Gold, PX3000, etc. is satisfactory as well.
  • Experience with Intelli Pen and third-party administrators (e.g., Procentia) preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data files and migration logic.
  • Proven ability to independently own calculation logic end-to-end.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, audits, and client support.
