Job Description

Complete a variety of intermediate to advanced financial and/or business analyses of financial ratios, trend analyses, revenue performance, financial forecasting and profitability projections and expense management. Analyze and interpret operating results. Identify, research and explain material variances. Coordinate and assist communication between departments in the preparation of such analyses. Serve as a project resource to provide financial advice and guidance for initiatives with potential financial reporting impact.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and work across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials and ensures sound controls and procedures.
  • Support reporting and analysis for additional constituencies, including Board of Directors, Investor Relations, and various regulatory agencies.
  • Experienced financial analyst role that applies in-depth knowledge within own professional discipline and a deeper understanding of concepts and principles of the business to produce relevant financial analysis and reporting.
  • Compile and submit timely and accurate reporting related to the company’s financial performance or strategy. These may include: income/expense or cash flow forecasts; regulatory interpretations, variance analysis and explanations for financial statement line items; or summaries, charts and graphs of data to highlight key results. Ensure that source data is reliable, complete and documentation is maintained to support data integrity initiatives.
  • Apply knowledge of best practices derived from experience to solve routine problems of moderate technical or operational complexity by analyzing possible solutions using data analysis, experience, judgment and precedents.
  • Perform duties related to monthly financial close, monthly forecasting and annual financial planning processes, including entries for month-end close, forecast updates, and Plan development.
  • Maintain financial information via the use of simple spreadsheets to more complex databases and reporting templates.
  • Assist in the development and testing of economic models as necessary.
  • Maintain necessary documentation of source data, ensuring adequate support of data integrity.
  • Deepen understanding and familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements, business cycles, origination channels and accounting flow for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), building expertise related to assigned area of responsibility.
  • Build a strong working relationship with supported business area.
  • Apply understanding of the company’s processes, culture, and clients to complete tasks.
  • Deliver high quality work and actively participate in projects; including planning and executing activities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external audits and examinations (responses to External and Regulatory requests are to be made in collaboration with Accounting Policy).
  • Assist in risk management governance and business continuity planning processes as necessary.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Two years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
  • Ability to take direction and then work independently to meet established deadlines with moderate supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound and logical decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work well with others in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other basic software products.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Four years of relevant accounting or finance experience that includes complex financial analysis.
