Silver Cap Partners, an institutionally capitalized real estate private equity firm focused on opportunistic investments throughout the Sunbelt region of the United States, is seeking an Accounting and Operations Senior Associate. The Accounting and Operations Senior Associate will support the CFO and broader leadership team in ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful financial and operational reporting across the firm’s investment portfolio. This role combines hands‑on accounting responsibilities, data management, and operational support, and is ideal for a highly motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
This role will be based in Charlotte, NC.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for a portfolio of real estate investments, including preparation of recurring journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and internal/external reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close of property‑level general ledgers and preparation of property financial statements.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including consolidation and coordination of required internal and external reporting.
- Review budget‑to‑actual performance by line item for all properties and identify key drivers behind material variances.
- Assist with annual financial statement audits and support maintenance of strong internal controls.
- Work directly with the CFO to organize, maintain, and analyze performance data related to the firm’s portfolio investments.
- Assist in preparing external investor reporting, including quarterly reports, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with Accounting and Asset Management teams in the budgeting and reforecasting process for all properties.
- Manage and support third‑party accounting, investment, and asset management software platforms.
- Participate in process‑improvement projects, including deployment of new technologies and automation of manual workflows.
- Assist in developing and documenting procedures related to financial reporting, controls, and operational processes.
- Support special projects aligned with broader company goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA strongly preferred; MACC or equivalent credential is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
- Experience in commercial real estate—retail, office, industrial, or multifamily—is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in new technologies and comfort learning new software platforms.
- Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Highly detail‑oriented with a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and sound independent judgment.
- Passion for process improvement, documentation, and operational efficiency.
