About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Project Finance Lawyer to join a leading Financial Services Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project finance
, representing lenders or tax equity investors in complex transactions. This role offers exposure to high-profile projects and collaboration with a dynamic team of legal and financial professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent lenders or tax equity investors in renewable energy project finance transactions (solar, wind, and other sustainable energy projects).
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex financing documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and tax equity documents.
  • Advise clients on regulatory, corporate, and financial matters related to project finance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, and clients to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide legal risk assessments for potential projects.
  • Stay current on project finance law, renewable energy regulations, and tax considerations.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Minimum 3 years of project finance experience , preferably representing lenders or tax equity investors in renewable energy transactions.
  • Strong understanding of project finance structures, including non-recourse and limited-recourse financing .

Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines effectively.

Business-oriented, practical legal advice and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience with cross-border project finance transactions.

Knowledge of sustainable and renewable energy market trends.

Collaborative, client-focused approach.
