Syndicated Loan Closing Specialist

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Syndicated Loan Closing Specialist for a contract opportunity with a financial services client.

• Gather and validate required due-diligence items for loan closings and amendments.
• Facilitate and verify initial funding activities, ensuring all general ledger entries balance appropriately.
• Manage the collection and application of all fees associated with the closing.
• Communicate relevant closing updates to partner banks involved in the syndication.
• Set up new loan facilities within internal systems and process ongoing maintenance activities.
• Coordinate imaging and retention of loan documentation after closing.
• Assist in clearing post-closing exceptions and resolving documentation or booking discrepancies.
• Strong understanding of loan syndications and participations (e.g., pro-rata allocations, accruals, fee mechanics, takedowns).
• Familiarity with syndicated credit structures and legal documentation.
• Knowledge of general ledger processes and reconciliation.
• Working understanding of real estate due-diligence requirements, including flood compliance.

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with high-value clients.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and elevate risks or inconsistencies.
• Comfort working through ambiguity and adapting to changing requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field required.
• 3‑5 years of experience in loan closing, loan operations, due diligence, or loan system administration.
• Experience with ACBS or similar commercial loan systems is preferred.
