The Product- & Systems Engineer is the technical responsible party for assigned product-lines and corresponding production processes throughout their lifecycle. As such, the role ensures the project-based development of product variants & customized fluidic system solutions, corresponding production processes, as well as their maintenance and continuous improvement over time. Technical evaluation of incoming requests, capturing and outlining requirements, translation into technical specifications, concluding engineered solutions and maintaining existing products in serial production by applying engineering methods and best practices are essential, daily duties.
A “hands‑on” mind‑set, thinking “outside the box”, attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to work effectively in engineering‑ & cross‑functional teams is required.

Design and development of customized fluidic system solutions within Burkert's core markets (such as lab- & analytical, medical devices & semiconductor industries), based on customers' requirements &
-needs under consideration of capabilities, procedures and product portfol - io.
Technical ownership of selected, existing products, focusing on their ongoing improvement over their lifecycle, ensuring continued quality and performan - ce.
Maintenance, development and/or implementation of production processes, areas & equipment, including proactive identification of opportunities for increased efficienci - es.
Engineering representative to internal & external stakeholders, including technical consultations with customers, troubleshooting, and providing engineering expertise to support cross-functional processes and tea - ms.
Creation of engineering documentation including CAD drawings, bill of materials, assembly-, testing- and operating- instructions/manual, as well as administration of product master data in ERP-syst - em.
Preparation of cost calculations with respect to technical-, quality- & regulatory requirements, as well as assisting in creation of commercial offe - rs.
Efficient & Effective management of assigned tasks and projects based on documented company procedures and systems, including hands on supervision of system integration partners, subcontractors and/or internal departments/functio - ns.
Assist in verification and validation of production- & assembly- processes as per established quality management procedur - es.
Support Purchasing Department with assessing, qualifying, and selecting third party system vendors/partne - rs.
Contribute to product quality by providing the necessary tools, documentation, information and corrective actions per Burkert quality policy and procedur - es.
Supporting the continuous improvement of Burkert's guidelines, standards, methodologies and processes as they relate to the engineering department and practic - es.

- NTS:
BS in Engineering, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Chemical or equivalent work exper - ience
Experience in process/piping control system engineering with working knowledge of various valve and instrumentation technologies a - plus Sustaining engineering experience is a
- plus.
Familiarity with highly regulated industries (e.g. medical devices) is prefe - rred.
Knowledge of Solid Works (or equivalent CAD-software) and various types of FEA stress, temperature, FMEA and gas flow analyses software is pref - erred
Electrical engineering and PLC-programming experience is hel - pful.
Experience in system- or product development is pref - erred
Experience working in manufacturing environments is a - plus.
Knowledge or qualification in the area of lean production principles is prefe - rred.
Experience with implementation, maintenance and/or qualification of production process is a - plus.
Strong customer focus and attention to d - etail
Able to work closely within a team and contribute individ - ually
