Software Engineer (Contingent Role) - Charlotte, NC
About the Role
In this contingent assignment, you will contribute to the delivery of moderately complex software engineering initiatives. You will participate in solution design, technical analysis, and implementation efforts that support large-scale engineering goals. This role involves evaluating technical challenges, identifying variable factors, and developing recommendations that align with organizational standards, policies, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and client stakeholders to drive consistent, high-quality outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the planning and execution of software engineering deliverables for medium-complexity initiatives.
- Analyze technical problems, evaluate solution options, and propose improvements based on best practices.
- Support the development and resolution of engineering issues while ensuring adherence to established policies, processes, and compliance guidelines.
- Provide technical input and consultation to engineering partners and client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective delivery of engineering solutions.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience through a combination of professional work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
- Technical leadership with the ability to guide junior engineers and influence engineering strategy.
- Strong experience in solution development, including Shift-Left testing principles, BDD, and TDD.
- Hands-on experience with GenAI/AI-assisted engineering capabilities.
- Solid understanding of end-to-end Dev Sec Ops automation, including quality gates and continuous integration/delivery practices.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills.
- Ability to research emerging technologies, standards, and industry trends.
- Skilled at presenting technical concepts in clear, user-friendly language.
- Strong ability to prioritize and execute in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
- Experience advising on process re-engineering to improve performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Additional depth in engineering strategy, test automation, and continuous quality improvement.
