Summary Of Position

As an Electrical Project Engineer, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will be responsible for designing and managing electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. You will apply your experience in power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems. As part of a multi‑disciplined firm, you will be coordinated with Site/Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers.

You will be responsible for the production of electrical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements, and site adjustments.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
  • Produce design plans, calculations, and reports with limited direction.
  • Coordinate with sub‑consultants and provide client interaction.
  • Establish and maintain phase and task level budgets.
  • Schedule production staff and lead them through tasks.
  • Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Assist in coordinating the work of a multi‑disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
  • Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required
  • 4+ years of experience with electrical design, preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores.
  • PE License required
  • Revit, MS Office required, AutoCAD is a plus
  • Arc Flash/Short Circuit experience is a plus
Work Location

This can be either a remote or hybrid (1 or 2 days a week in the office) position based out of the following Core States Group offices:
Naperville, IL, or Charlotte, NC. If remote, must live in IL or NC.
