Project Engineer - Water Resources

Duties Include:
  • Perform and/or conduct hydrologic analysis, hydraulic analysis, and water quality analysis of open channel and/or closed conduit stormwater collection systems for large and small‑scale development projects and watersheds.
  • Preparation and review of one‑ and two‑dimensional hydrologic/hydraulic models, FEMA CLOMR/LOMR applications, documents and exhibits, and drainage reports.
  • Effectively interpret and communicate model input parameters, assumptions and results with a level of engineering judgement to troubleshoot model anomalies.
  • Design site‑specific best management practices (BMPs) to achieve permitting requirements including conventional, low impact development, green infrastructure and stormwater volume control BMPs.
  • Perform opinions of construction costs for stormwater related projects, including open/closed system drainage rehabilitation, canals and flood control structures.
  • Preferred – Ability to use HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, ICPR, XPSWMM, Arc Map, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience
  • An understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • EIT registration strongly preferred
  • Ability to obtain Professional Engineer License within one year of hire strongly preferred
Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organization skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team setting with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to learn various software programs.
