Position Title:
Engineer III, I&C
Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is currently seeking an Engineer III, I&C for a direct hire position located in Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC. This position is not remote.
Position SynopsisSuccessful candidate will be relied upon to perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. The candidate should have past experience evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria. The candidate will assist with performing calculations, modifications, and designs, and possess technical knowledge of the electrical discipline.
They will work on project teams with other engineers to evaluate conditions, propose modifications, and develop design changes that improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.
- BS in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, computer, or process/controls engineering from an accredited engineering program that includes coursework in analog and digital control systems.
- 6 years of experience, with at least 2 years in nuclear power.
- Knowledge of digital/analog control systems.
Required Qualifications (minimum)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective time management skills; may involve working on several projects concurrently.
- Understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Overtime work may be required.
- Travel to client sites with occasional field/office work.
- Ability to perform walkdowns of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security controlled areas, entering confined spaces, and controlled hazardous areas.

- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) registration or Professional Engineering (PE) registration desirable.
- MS in one of the above degrees from an accredited engineering program desirable.
- Experience in the commercial nuclear power industry and actual field experience on nuclear plant projects desirable.
