Responsibilities
ECS is hiring a Geotechnical CAD Designer to join our team in North Carolina. This person will be focused on high-visibility transportation infrastructure where your technical expertise bridges the gap between subsurface data and roadway design.
- Produce geotechnical plan sheets using Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
- Develop boring location plans, profiles, and geotechnical cross sections.
- Create pavement section details and embankment exhibits.
- Integrate subsurface exploration data into DOT roadway plan sets.
- Manage stationing, alignments, and profiles within the Bentley environment.
- Maintain DOT CAD standards, levels, and symbology for all deliverables.
- Coordinate with geotechnical and structural teams to ensure plan accuracy.
- Perform QA/QC checks on redline updates and file organization.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of CAD design experience in transportation or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
- Proven experience supporting DOT projects and submittal requirements.
- Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and engineering sketches.
- Strong file management skills within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with geotechnical boring programs and exploration layouts.
- Knowledge of retaining wall or slope stabilization exhibits.
- Prior use of InRoads, Geopak, or Civil 3D.
- History of working on design-build transportation projects.
