Applications Engineer – Precision CNC / Turnkey Solutions
A well-established manufacturer of advanced machining solutions is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its North Carolina-based team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong CNC programming background and a passion for turnkey manufacturing solutions.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the full cycle of turnkey machining projects — from program creation to on-site customer implementation
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs (primarily Fanuc, with 5-axis applications strongly preferred)
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and machining processes for cycle time and quality targets
  • Validate processes using SPC techniques and CMM inspection data
  • Partner with proposal and sales teams on application reviews and pre-sales consultations
  • Conduct customer training sessions and support technical troubleshooting (on-site and remote)
  • Regularly travel to customer locations across North America (50%+ travel)
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience (Fanuc required; Siemens a plus)
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Master Cam, Siemens NX, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of parametric programming (Fanuc Macro B, Siemens Parametric, etc.)
  • Familiarity with GD&T, SPC, CMM tools, and interpreting complex engineering drawings
  • Experience across diverse materials — including aluminum, titanium, PEEK, and stainless
  • A background in high-precision environments: aerospace, medical, or automotive preferred
  • Vocational or associate-level training in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills — able to thrive in a customer-facing role
Why This Role?
  • Be the go-to expert for building high-precision, fully integrated machining processes
  • Work with industry-leading technology and contribute to mission-critical applications
  • Join a collaborative and fast-moving team where engineering innovation is the norm
  • Competitive pay, travel exposure, and the opportunity to see your work in action at top-tier manufacturers
