Overview

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and manage the engineering, construction, CB fiber fulfillment staff, and HFC network.
  • Implement and enhance consistent engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery aligned with company initiatives and expectations.
  • Support KMA operations with technical services and plant maintenance; direct project planning, capital budgeting, and assist with business plan development.
  • Ensure a high degree of cross-functional communication and participation aligned with product deployment and support.
  • Partner with KMA Senior Management and Sr Director, Regional Engineering to plan and evaluate capital needs for development and expansion.
  • Implement and enhance consistent practices to ensure stable service delivery aligned with Region initiatives and expectations.
  • Actively and consistently support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Develop an effective frontline leadership team and assist them with developing their direct reports to drive a high-performance culture and environment.
  • Lead an innovative, collaborative work team to deliver exceptional customer experience results.
  • Oversee designated operations including HFC plant, construction projects, new builds, nonstandard plant conditions, security and related equipment requirements.
  • Provide engineering support and direction for new or existing technologies and current operational initiatives.
  • Evaluate and consult with Region, Network Operations and other cross-functional leadership on technical operations, strategic rebuild planning, and network operations for output to OSP, dispatch, and new product deployment.
  • Direct KMA field staff in fulfillment and service for complex fiber projects (e.g., cellback haul, DATA/WAN, LBI, PRI installation) and adhere to SLA obligations.
  • Direct quality control programs for engineering operations and ensure consistent operational procedures; manage mapping, design, HFC documentation, and records management.
  • Initiate and review bids for contracted projects and provide recommendations.
  • Direct the capital budget process and execute the approved budget plan.
  • Ensure current procedures and tests are performed in accordance with FCC standards.
  • Oversee maintenance of records as required by the FCC and other government agencies.
  • Adhere to company TQA policies.
  • Lead and participate in succession planning and oversee staff development and performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities, and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Advanced knowledge of company products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of HFC, Advanced Video, and IP Networks.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks; make decisions and solve problems under pressure.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others; use personal computer and software applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of FCC compliance reports and other rules and regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable local and state rules and regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OSHA rules and regulations (federal and state).
  • Comprehensive understanding of power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of Analog Transmission Line Theory, Electronic theory, Federal Communications Commission regulations, Fiber Optic theory.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code.
Required Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Engineering experience – 8+ years
  • Project management experience – 5+ years
Preferred Education
  • SCTE-BCT/E certification or equivalent
  • Relevant industry and vendor-specific certifications and training

Working Conditions
