Lead innovation where engineering meets impact

Do you enjoy turning complex engineering challenges into real-world solutions? Are you energized by leading teams, improving how things are built, and bringing new equipment to life? At Sealed Air, we are evolving our Innovation & Development organization—and we’re looking for an R&D Equipment Manager to play a key role in that journey.

In this role, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of automation equipment within our high-performance packaging portfolio. You’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring equipment solutions move efficiently from concept to launch—and perform reliably in the field.

What you’ll do
  • Lead engineering teams responsible for the design, development, and support of automation equipment and machinery.
  • Strengthen technical capabilities in machine design, drafting standards, and equipment development.
  • Drive New Product Development and sustaining engineering activities across the full product lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout development, validation, installation, and troubleshooting phases.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain to improve manufacturability, scalability, and robustness of equipment solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and other functions to ensure solutions deliver clear customer value and commercial success.
  • Plan and manage project schedules, resources, and priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and improve engineering processes, procedures, and ISO-aligned standards.
  • Map current processes, define future states, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage workload planning, resource leveling, and team efficiency.
  • Develop and coach engineers, designers, and administrators through meaningful development plans.
  • Support the identification and coordination of external and third-party technical partners.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams in an equipment or machinery environment.
  • Strong background in automation, machine design, and equipment development.
  • Hands-on experience with New Product Development and sustaining engineering.
  • Solid experience managing project schedules, priorities, and execution.
  • Experience developing and improving engineering processes, procedures, and drafting standards.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable communication for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused mindset, including experience with on-site equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functions, with a practical, execution-oriented approach.
  • High attention to detail, balanced with the ability to move projects forward.
