Overview

Join to apply for the Civil/Roadway Engineer role at STV
. STV has an immediate need in our Charlotte or Raleigh, NC office for a Civil / Roadway Engineer in our Transportation Division. The successful candidate will provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies and NCDOT.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies and NCDOT.
  • Design roadway geometry and details, drainage, traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.
  • Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams.
  • Design using Micro Station; experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus.
  • Coordinate design development and assist with technical direction to other design staff.
  • Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
  • Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers.
  • Mentor supporting Civil design staff.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design including highway, reduced conflict intersections, roundabouts, intersections, widenings, and bike/ped design.
  • Experience with Micro Station and Geopak required; familiarity with Open Roads Designer is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the latest edition of AASHTO Green Book and MUTCD.
  • Experience with NCDOT and other NC municipalities is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • NC PE license is required.
