Overview

The Professional Surveyor position functions as a member of the Schneider Geomatics team with the purpose of self-performing most tasks associated with Geomatics projects including field and office tasks. The objective of this position is to deliver survey services to the client that meets the requirements of our agreements as to type and quality of services and timeliness of completion by a professional that has been involved in all aspects of the project from beginning to end.

Responsibilities
  • Self-perform field and office tasks related to Geomatics projects, delivering survey services that meet contract requirements for type, quality, and timeliness.
  • Engage in surveys such as boundary surveys, subdivision plats, topographic surveys, land title (ALTA) surveys, route surveys, construction surveys, and control surveys.
  • Perform other technical duties to support Geomatics projects originating from Schneider offices or teams as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Professional Land Surveyor license and registration required in North Carolina.
  • 3 – 5 years of Field surveying experience required.
  • 3 – 5 years of Office surveying experience required.
  • Strong understanding of both field and office functions to produce traditional surveying deliverables for utility infrastructure and construction markets.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience using AutoCAD required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of conventional and GPS land surveying equipment and techniques; experience with Trimble GPS network and base/rover setup;
    Trimble robotic Total Station; and proficiency in Trimble Business Center preferred.
  • Experience using GIS platforms and internet search tools.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings and utility construction plans.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
