- Design fire protection and plumbing systems (e.g., sprinkler layouts, fire pump sizing, piping, sanitary, medical gas, domestic water heating, ductwork).
- Perform system calculations, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and equipment selections.
- Develop construction documents and job-specific specifications.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction inspections.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Serve as Engineer of Record and mentor junior staff.
- Ensure compliance with codes such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and IBC.
- Maintain high proficiency in computer-aided design tools and software.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET‑accredited). - Experience:
8+ years as a licensed professional engineer. - Licenses/Certifications:
Current PE License (required), NCEES Registration, Licensed in at least one U.S. state. - Preferred:
Certified Plumbing Designer, LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials. - Computer
Skills:
Revit, AutoCAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3D. - Travel: up to 20% depending on project.
