CPH has an opening in our Sanford, FL location for the following position:
Mechanical Engineer - PE with 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial design. This position may be eligible for hybrid flexibility.

Job Description:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting and leading projects from inception to completion, designing mechanical and plumbing systems, and mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities include maintaining project schedules, interfacing with clients, and delivering high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Duties Include:
- Design and develop mechanical and plumbing systems independently.
- Prepare and revise documentation across various project phases.
- Manage and execute mechanical engineering deliverables across multiple projects.
- Develop project scope, budgets, and design approaches.
- Prepare data sheets and specifications for equipment procurement.
- Conduct quality assurance and control on projects.
- Assist in creating standards and specifications for the mechanical engineering group.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and recommend changes.
- Participate in client/vendor/contractor meetings, value analysis sessions, and cost estimating.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida or ability to attain reciprocity. NCEES record and ability to obtain PE in other states is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Boilers, Chillers, and Central Heating systems.
- Project experience in designing Mechanical/HVAC systems for various markets.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, energy/load simulation software, and Microsoft Office.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in mechanical design software, such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and design principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Deltek Vision, and Smartsheet or similar platforms.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking and independent judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to schedules and budgets.
- Flexibility in work schedule.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.
