PositionSummary
The Estimator at Marmic Fire and Safety will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with fire protection and safety projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that bids are competitive and align with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, project management, and the fire protection industry, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
CoreResponsibilities Cost Estimation And Analysis
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire protection and safety projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project scope and requirements.
- Conduct site visits and assess project conditions to identify potential cost factors and risks.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring they meet client specifications and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and refine estimates.
- Review and adjust estimates based on feedback and changes to project scope or specifications.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable rates and maintain cost control.
- Integrate subcontractor and vendor costs into overall project estimates.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets and identify potential variances.
- Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities to optimize project budgets.
- Prepare detailed cost reports and analysis for review by project managers and senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports, including comparisons of estimated versus actual costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements in all estimation activities.
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and changes in fire protection technology and regulations.
- Implement and promote best practices in cost estimation and project management.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving estimating processes and tools.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience estimating fire sprinkler installations.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, materials, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate accurate cost estimates.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
