Job Title: CFD / Thermal – 3D Thermal Management CAE Specialist
Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced CFD / Thermal Management CAE Specialist to support the development and optimization of thermal management solutions for electric and hybrid vehicle systems. This role focuses on 3D thermal simulations, battery thermal management, and correlation of virtual models with physical test data to ensure optimal vehicle performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in thermal simulation tools and hands-on experience with EV powertrain and thermal systems.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement thermal management strategies for high-power components including batteries, inverters, electric motors, and power electronics.
- Perform 3D thermal and CFD simulations to evaluate and optimize cooling and heating system performance under various operating conditions such as high-speed driving, rapid acceleration, and charging.
- Analyze heat transfer and cooling requirements, including radiators, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, and liquid cooling architectures.
- Optimize battery thermal management systems to improve performance, durability, safety, and vehicle range.
- Collaborate closely with powertrain, electrical, and controls teams to integrate thermal solutions into overall vehicle design.
- Validate simulation models by correlating virtual results with physical test data and vehicle-level testing.
- Document analysis results and prepare technical reports with recommendations for design improvements.
- Research and apply advanced cooling technologies such as liquid cooling, phase change materials, and thermal insulation.
- Support virtual performance sign-off based on validated simulation models.
- Strong experience in thermal management and CFD analysis for automotive or EV systems.
- Hands-on proficiency with ANSYS, GT-SUITE, and STAR-CCM+.
- Solid understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal system design.
- Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicle applications.
- Ability to correlate simulation results with physical testing data.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience in battery thermal management and EV powertrain systems.
- Exposure to vehicle-level thermal testing and validation.
- Knowledge of advanced cooling technologies and thermal materials.
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
