2 Distribution Designers are needed for an engineering consulting firm located in the Charlotte area. The candidates will work under the engineering manager to design and redesign power distribution layouts for a large energy supplier across North and South Carolina. Key responsibilities include designing new layouts, modifying existing grids, coordinating maintenance, relocation, and new construction of the power grid, handling fieldwork, applying CAD software, ensuring environmental compliance, and submitting necessary applications for right‑of‑way easements, DOT encroachment, and railroad and transmission permits.
MustHaves
- Design software experience
- Solid Works, Micro Station, AutoCAD, or any 2D/3D drafting software experience
- AutoCAD drafter/technician experience in telecom, electrical, or utilities field
- Internship or Sr. Capstone Project in an engineering degree (mechanical, civil, electrical, industrial)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil/Industrial Engineering (fresh graduate acceptable)
- Duke Energy experience or other power distribution background
