Pay: $ - $ per year

Note: This position requires employees to be on‑site five days a week at our clients Charlotte, NC office.

Schedule:

Four 9‑hour workdays and a half‑day on Fridays.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and have 10+ years of roadway design and project management experience.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Project Manager to join their Charlotte team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional ready to lead high‑impact transportation projects, collaborate directly with clients, and mentor junior engineers.

  • Manage roadway design projects, including highways, arterials, intersections, and interchanges
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, scopes, and deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as primary point of contact
  • Lead proposal development and contribute to business development activities
  • Mentor and train junior engineering staff
  • Utilize design software such as Micro Station, Geo Pak, and Open Roads
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • P.E. license in NC (or ability to secure within 6 months)
  • 10+ years of roadway design and project management experience
  • Strong background with Micro Station, Geo Pak, Open Roads, CAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in business development and proposal preparation
