Instrumentation & Controls Engineer – Power Distribution Projects
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Schedule – 3 days onsite)
Relocation Assistance Available

Join a high-performing engineering team tackling complex and meaningful energy infrastructure projects. We’re looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer who thrives on technical challenges, values collaboration, and is eager to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of power facilities.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary group designing, upgrading, and modifying plant systems — ensuring reliability, compliance, and innovation at every stage. This is a hands‑on role with opportunities to lead teams, mentor emerging engineers, and engage with clients and project stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and implement I&C systems for plant modifications, including digital upgrades
  • Develop engineering change packages — wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and instrument hookups
  • Specify and evaluate instrumentation for process variables such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level
  • Prepare technical specifications, perform set‑point and electrical load calculations, and review vendor submittals
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams while ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams to deliver solutions on schedule and within scope
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience in design, operations, or field support for power plants or heavy industrial facilities
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with operating U.S. nuclear power plants and familiarity with standard nuclear design processes
  • Proven leadership skills in guiding engineers and technicians, plus mentoring junior team members
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering design tools and documentation processes
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder) and ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access
Why Join Us
  • Competitive market‑based salary with potential performance bonuses
  • 3–4 weeks vacation plus additional paid holiday closure in December
  • 100% employer‑paid health benefits for employees; dependent coverage available
  • 401(k) plan with matching contributions
  • Relocation assistance for qualified candidates
  • Standard 40‑hour workweek, overtime eligible at 1.5x
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days per week in the Charlotte, NC office
  • Considering flexibility for other office locations or remote arrangements depending on project needs

Be part of an organization shaping the future of safe, reliable energy infrastructure. Apply your expertise to projects that make a lasting difference.
