Project IT Manager III

Overview

Position Overview:

Hybrid;
Tues-Thur onsite, occasional site visits. The Project IT Manager is responsible for the management, or assistance of managing, all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. Projects are typically between $100,000 and $50M with a Low to Moderate level of complexity and may impact the facility or department level within the Company as well as some Senior Management and/or External Agencies.

• Provide leadership, oversight management, delegation, and coordination to internal and external organizations delivering services to the project or products (development, engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, etc.). The PM manages all matrixed team members daily and interfaces with functional managers regarding placement, development and conflict resolution.
• Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project-related meetings and reports to ensure open communication among team members, key stakeholders, and management (monthly project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports, monthly reports, etc.). Ensure Project Plan, reports, and reporting means are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards. Present reports to appropriate management/governance teams skillfully.
• Drive project planning processes including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. Include activities such as scope definition, detailed design, construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty management.
• Define and manage objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, WBS, schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plan, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close out.

• Bachelor's degree
• 10 years related work experience

• In addition to desired degree
• 10 years Telecommunications related work experience
• Master's degree in project management or MBA
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
• Project-related work experience
• Construction management knowledge
• Proficient to expert in project-related scheduling, cost controls
• Knowledge of Agile concepts / project-related work experience
• Project leadership
• Strong collaboration
• Utility experience, specifically IT telecommunications
• Strong understanding of telecommunications technology:
  Cisco routing/switching, data centers, WANs
• Track status of multiple teams outside telecommunications
• Solid status updates
