Description
Lead Substation Protection and Control Engineer to join Leidos' Substation Engineering organization. This role supports the professional growth and work-life balance of our team while leading and designing high voltage utility substation projects. Remote or Hybrid options are available in the Charlotte, NC office for applicants. Candidates must be located in the United States or be able to relocate to the United States.
Responsibilities- Act as a key contributor to the development substation protection and control design projects
- Lead, mentor and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters
- Take complete ownership of each project, including management of financials, resources, and design
- Liaison, lead, coordinate, and collaborate with external clients
- Continually improve and maximize quality
- Effectively and professionally communicate with our clients
- Contribute to the definition of design scope, philosophies, and design methodologies
- Participating in leadership training
- Career advancement and leadership opportunities
- Attending technical training to expand skills
- Support to obtain and maintain your P.E. license
- Exposure to projects ranging from distribution to transmission level voltages
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related degree
- Eight (8+) years of direct experience in substation Protection and control design
- Ability to lead substation design projects by aligning engineering execution with program management
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience leading a project team
- Experience in substation physical design
- Field testing/commissioning experience
