Our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) global practice is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) across the southeastern United States, covering offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Oakridge, Huntsville, and Aiken. Field assignments may occur throughout the U.S.

- Support Project Management Teams in planning, executing, and monitoring projects through all stages, including siting, permitting, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, procurement, construction oversight, and closeout.
- Manage contractors’ submittals, requests for information, supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.
- Verify contractor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and material management programs.
- Execute contracts, including change order management, field change directives, invoice approval, and schedule management.
- Assist with project controls efforts: cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure establishment, accounting system set‑up and closeout, and field progress tracking.
- Assist with internal and external reporting, including budgeting, cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and status reports to stakeholders.
- Close out contract and project documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related accredited program and 5 years of applicable experience.
- PMP or similar certification is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding environment and work overtime on short notice.
- High proficiency using Microsoft Office.
- Collaboration skills with owners, contractors, project managers, engineers, and designers in a multi‑discipline team.
- Creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
- Assigned to a Burns & McDonnell office; field assignment may be required if not local to southeast offices.
- Expected travel up to 30% of the time.
