Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager for our Charlotte, North Carolina office, with leaking underground storage tank (UST) investigation/remediation experience (retail petroleum), particularly working with the NCDEQ UST Trust Fund. The ideal candidate will demonstrate UST investigation/remediation project experience, maintain a strong focus on health and safety, be detail‑oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a high‑performance team.
Responsibilities- Managing scope, schedule, and budget for large‑sized investigation/remediation and construction projects.
- Preparing cost estimates and proposals, and maintaining financial KPIs.
- Completing a variety of remedial designs.
- Building strong client relationships.
- Client and regulatory correspondence.
- Technical report writing and review.
- Analyzes and applies solutions to atypical and/or semi‑complex and challenging issues within area of expertise.
- Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits.
- Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders.
- Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors.
- Responsible for quality control of tasks.
- Prepare NCDEQ UST Trust Fund reimbursement paperwork and submit in a timely manner to the Incident Manager.
- Mentor project Jr. staff.
- Will require some regional travel for field visits.
- Supervise up to 5 staff.
- Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Soil Science, Geology, or closely related field and (2) two years of Project Management experience and/or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required. Sponsorship will not be offered for this role at this time or in the future.
- Qualified applicants who are offered the role will be subject to a background check, motor vehicle records check.
- 8 years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on site investigation / remediation.
- 4 years of project management experience.
- Experience working with the NCDEQ UST Trust Fund on leaking UST projects and completing reimbursement claims.
- 40‑Hour HAZWOPER Training.
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction (supervisor).
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000.
