We are seeking a Quality Engineer for our Charlotte, North Carolina facility who enjoys working as a member of the site team to support, improve, and drive our quality standards. This position is responsible for the overall quality of manufactured products and processes.
Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will work collaboratively with site leadership and other parts of the organization to maximize success for Trystar and our customers.

- Provide manufacturing quality support to improve FPY and OTD.
- Analyze returned materials and warranty data to assist with RMA determinations.
- Offer technical assistance regarding process capability, defect detection, and prevention strategies.
- Support the creation and implementation of quality procedures, specifications, and metrics to ensure products consistently exceed requirements.
- Engage in product release cycles to ensure manufacturability and process controls are fully realized.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration to create, update, and maintain process control plans and FMEAs.
- Analyze non‑conformances, determine Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and lead structured problem‑solving using 8D or 5 Whys methodologies.
- Facilitate cross‑functional efforts to systematically mitigate risk in identified problem areas.
- Assist with process improvement and compliance initiatives to deliver high‑quality products consistently and on time.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to eliminate scrap, reduce rework, and optimize inspection processes.
- Coordinate and execute updates for ISO 9001:2015 QMS processes and procedures.
Basic Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred) - Experience:
3+ years in an ISO 9001‑certified manufacturing environment - Technical
Skills:- Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly methods, including fixtures, tooling, fabrication, gaging methodology, and metrology.
- Ability to read and interpret one‑line diagrams, schematics, and ladder diagrams.
- Proficiency in reviewing engineering specifications and blueprints to ensure product conformance.
- Familiarity with electrical terminology and standards, and ability to apply them to products.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and ERP/MRP systems (Epicor experience preferred)
- Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications in power systems (UL, ETL, CSA)
- Six Sigma / DMAIC experience and exposure to statistical methods (probability and statistics)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent team facilitation and leadership skills, including motivating cross‑functional teams on improvement projects.
