Overview

Business Analyst – Energy Efficiency (Hybrid)

Pay: $29.00-$39.00 per hour DOE

Location: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the Non-Residential Energy Efficiency portfolio
, with a strong focus on data analysis, energy usage calculations, and savings validation
. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate performance metrics, improved customer experience, and strong financial outcomes.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally with program leaders, engineers, vendors, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze data, calculations, and metrics related to energy usage and energy savings
  • Support regulatory compliance and accurate reporting across energy efficiency programs
  • Review program performance, forecasts, schedules, systems, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate application flow, program status, escalations, and overall portfolio performance
  • Recommend business and process improvements that align with program goals and customer needs
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the team and support stakeholders across functions
  • Manage end-to-end customer and contractor application processes
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for system issues and application challenges
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for program processes, tools, and communications
  • Collaborate with building owners, architects, contractors, and engineers to understand energy conservation goals
  • Manage a portfolio of projects at varying stages of completion
  • Track, report, and escalate system and process issues as appropriate
Qualifications
  • Proven experience reviewing and analyzing energy usage and savings data
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different jurisdictions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency programs, utility programs, or regulatory environments preferred
