Adjunct Faculty - Dept. of Arts & Humanities; CLA

Responsibilities

• Adjunct instructors in Spanish, Arabic, French, Chinese, English Literature, Religion, Philosophy, Dance, Choir, Band, Piano, and Voice.
• Recruiting a pool for undergraduate teaching positions; candidate may develop one additional course related to expertise.
• Deliver relevant course material, assess student performance, provide guidance and assistance to students in and out of classroom, submit grades timely.
• Strengthen current faculty expertise with practicing knowledge and skills in listed areas.
• Represent University and Department professionally with faculty, staff, students, alumni, stakeholders.
• Teaching assignments available each semester on an as-needed basis.

• Master’s Degree in teaching disciplines or at least 18 graduate hours in discipline, or documented justifiable scholarly and professional experience certified by College Dean.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
• Previous university-level teaching experience preferred.
• Professional or academic experience related to Spanish language, literature, or culture highly desirable.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage students and promote dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
• Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms advantageous.

• Finalists subject to background check; employment contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity check.

  4) Unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended (official transcripts required of all finalists);
