The University of South Carolina Lancaster seeks a tenure‑track faculty member in Biology for a 9‑month appointment beginning August 16, 2026. The faculty member will normally teach twelve contact hours per semester, including labs, evening, and distributed learning courses as needed. Teach biology courses for majors and non‑majors suitable for freshmen and sophomore students, particularly courses focused on ecology, evolution, organismal diversity, and animal dissection.
Opportunities exist to teach upper‑division courses in Palmetto College online bachelor’s degree programs and dual‑credit high‑school courses at the main campus and potentially the Indian Land location. Assistant Professors must commit to scholarship and university/community service.
- PhD in biology or a similarly appropriate degree.
- Minimum of 18 graduate hours in biology, including credentials necessary for departmental approval by the start date of employment (ABDs considered).
