This is a part-time, non-benefit status position reporting to the Continuing Education Registration & Records Director and works closely with all Continuing Education professional staff and instructors as part of a team. The Class Visitations Clerk will conduct class visitations of various day and night continuing education classes. Qualified candidates will possess computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexibility and willingness to change;
open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives; a willingness to take risks, and willingness to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth. This is a temporary part-time position. This is a wonderful position for an individual seeking a job opportunity with limited and flexible hours allowing for opportunities to engage with a great staff and quality education program.
- Perform class visitations for day and evening classes on campus and off-site locations.
- Using the Continuing Education Class Visitation Form, conduct class visits documenting date and time of visitation, name of instructor, number of students appearing on roster/attendance sheet, number of students present in class, type of classroom instruction occurring (lecture, hands-on lab, independent assignment, group assignment, etc.), student engagement comments, and other details pertinent to the class visit. Each class visit shall last a minimum of 15 minutes.
- Submit Class Visitation Reports to Continuing Education Registration & Records Director and Associate Vice President of Continuing Education.
- Maintain student, faculty and staff confidentiality.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism as a representative of the college.
- Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments in a positive manner.
- Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
- Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.
- Comply with the College’s policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor.

- At least five years of documented work experience
OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities with a minimum of five years of work experience.
Work Environment:Classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, and other instructional spaces on campus and at off-site continuing education locations. The position requires frequent movement between locations and regular interaction with instructors, students, staff, and members of the public. Some class visitations occur during evening hours. The work environment may vary depending on instructional format and location and requires adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while representing the College.
PhysicalDemands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, observe classroom activities, speak, hear, and use hands and fingers to complete written and electronic documentation.
- Must be able to move between classrooms and off-site locations and remain present in classrooms for a minimum of 15 minutes per visitation.
- May require occasional lifting or carrying of light materials (up to 15 pounds).
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to observe instructional activities
Working Hours:
Schedule will vary based on department needs; up to 25 hours per month;
Requires some weekend and evening hours.
