Library Assessment Coordinator

Leads library assessment and integrates assessment and evidence-based decision-making across the Library. Coordinates data collection, storage, processing, and dissemination for decision-making and reporting. Analyzes and reports quantitative and qualitative data gathered from various sources in the Library and across campus. Collaborates on assessment research projects across the Library and supports assessment-focused data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings. Explores and communicates new assessment methods, including analysis and data collection to library staff.

Provides consultation to library staff on assessment methods including usability testing, data collection and analysis. Participates in the library's Strategic Planning Committee; creating tools to assist the library in conducting strategic planning; developing and advising on the creation of strategic metrics; and contributes to annual reports relating to annual strategic plan accomplishments. Develops and implements internal training on assessment methods, data collection and analysis, and technologies.

Works closely with campus OneIT on business intelligence systems, assessment data storage, and data security. Coordinates the data collection for annual reports, strategic plans, and surveys. Ensures a collegial, team-oriented work environment. Displays excellent customer service and interpersonal skills when working with patrons and colleagues. Plans for, hires, develops, and manages reporting personnel, including faculty, staff, student assistants, interns, and non-student temps.

Advises and serves as a resource for library administration related to budget/finance planning; grant writing and support; library-led research activities; and regional and national engagement. Leads special projects as assigned.

Minimum Experience / Education

The minimum academic credential required for applicants for faculty positions in Atkins Library is completion of a master s degree in the field of library and information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association by time of interview. Graduation with master s degree in a specialized area directly relevant to the position description may be an acceptable substitute in certain situations if approved by the Dean.
