- Leading adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
- Creating personalized, engaging sessions that resonate with children and foster a lasting passion for reading
- Reviewing student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and generate practical insights
- Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI-based literacy solutions
- Following pre-packaged curricula or published instructional sequences
Key Responsibilities
Cultivate a passion for reading in early learners
Basic Requirements- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group reading interventions to students in early elementary grades
- Demonstrated ability to assess reading proficiency, form student groups, and create differentiated instruction without relying on pre-written curricula
- Experience using AI or adaptive learning platforms and adapting instruction based on student interaction data
- Legal work authorization in the U.S. without need for sponsorship
- Ability to work on-site at one of our locations:
Chantilly (Washington), VA;
San Francisco, CA; or New York City, NY

This role focuses on diagnosing learner needs, designing original evidence-based interventions, and contributing to adaptive technology that extends expertise to hundreds of students. This position is for reading specialists who excel in environments without rigid curricula and are ready to shape the future of scalable literacy instruction.
Working with UsThis is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
