The Media Arts Center is an avocational school in Charlotte dedicated to fostering creativity and preparing students for careers in media. The school provides practical, hands‑on training in filmmaking, broadcasting, digital marketing, creative anomation, and business applications using AI. Programs are structured as 12‑week sessions, with two 3‑hour classes and two 3 hour lab blocks each week, allowing students to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge.
Role DescriptionThis is a contract, on‑site role for a Contract School Instructor (CSIs) with a specialty in Filmmaking, at The Media Arts Center's campus in Charlotte (Ballantyne) NC. Instructors teach creative and technical concepts, facilitate hands‑on labs, and support students with coursework in their area of expertise. Additional responsibilities include following lesson plans, monitoring student progress, and maintaining a collaborative, inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications- Must be available Tuesdays + Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.
- Experienced in the Filmmaking, specialty in cameras and lighting
- A lifetime dedicated to helping people thrive
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to host engaging lesson plans and provide constructive student feedback
- Previous instructional or mentoring experience is preferred
- Professional experience in the media or creative industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree is not required. Experience in Filmmaking is the only requirment.
