The University of South Carolina Lancaster, a Palmetto College campus, seeks a professional‑track faculty member in Sociology for a 9‑month appointment at the rank of Instructor beginning August 16, 2026. The faculty member will normally teach twelve credit hours per semester, including evening and distributed learning courses as needed. Instructors will teach foundational courses for freshmen and sophomores and may also teach upper‑division courses in the Palmetto College online bachelor’s degree programs.
Candidates must be willing to teach dual‑credit high‑school students at both Indian Land and main campus locations.
- Teach twelve credit hours per semester in Sociology courses, including evening and distributed learning formats.
- Provide instruction to undergraduate students and dual‑credit high‑school students.

- Master’s degree in sociology or an appropriate field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in sociology.
