At Alpha School, you will spearhead the development of an AI-powered, scalable reading initiative that delivers more transformative progress in 2 hours than conventional schools achieve in an entire day. You'll design adaptive workshops, examine live student performance data, and partner with engineers to create literacy solutions that extend your influence to hundreds of learners.

This position merges direct student interaction with innovative program design, allowing you to shape individual readers while constructing a system that expands foundational literacy across multiple sites.

• Facilitating adaptive reading workshops that build foundational competencies in phonics, comprehension, and fluency.
• Creating personalized motivational experiences that engage children and foster a lifelong passion for reading.
• Examining student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and identify actionable insights.
• Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI literacy tools.

• • Bachelor's degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent).
• • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing small‑group reading interventions to early elementary students.
• • Capable of assessing reading levels, organizing students into groups, and creating differentiated instruction without relying on pre‑written curricula.
• • Experienced with AI/adaptive learning tools and able to respond to student behaviors within these platforms.
• • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• • Willing to work on‑site at one of our campuses:
  Chantilly (Washington), VA;
  San Francisco, CA; or New York City, NY.

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
