Position Overview
Part‑Time Faculty;
Chemistry at UNC Charlotte. Position Number: EPTF
50. This is a course‑instructional role in the College of Science (Chemistry). Hours per week vary, generally 10–20 hours, to cover a semester or partial year. Pay Rate varies according to qualifications. Eligible to teach undergraduate courses and/or graduate courses with the necessary credentials.
- Develop and update course syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, and other student assignments.
- Conduct all scheduled class periods and maintain office hours.
- Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Submit mid‑semester progress reports and final grades per university regulations.
- Collaborate with department to align course objectives with program standards.
- Comply with UNC Charlotte policies on teaching evaluation and academic integrity.
- Doctorate or master’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline; master’s with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours is acceptable.
- For undergraduate teaching: a record of undergraduate instruction or similar experience is preferred.
- For graduate teaching: earned doctorate or terminal degree in the discipline or related field.
- Demonstrated competence, effectiveness, and capacity in teaching.
- English proficiency for instruction in English.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation on letterhead, plus an official transcript.
- Commitment to the months per year range of 4–11 as specified.
- Subject to a criminal background check.
These are adjunct/part‑time positions; they do not accrue benefits.
