Thank you for your interest in teaching with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools! This posting is for candidates interested in entering the teaching profession during the 2024-25 or 2025-26 academic year. Summary

Teachers provide support to the instructional process by serving as the classroom leader with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas. The person in this position develops lesson plans and delivers group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborates with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues. This person also responds to a wide range of inquiries from students  parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Duties
  • Provides all students the best education available anywhere, preparing every child to lead a rich and productive life in the 21 st century.
  • Creates a culture of effectiveness, by setting high standards and expectations for all students.
  • Teaches courses assigned by their principal/supervisor which are aligned to their licensure area; including but not limited to combined grade classes, specialized subject such as math, science or literacy.
  • Prepares course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of the state and the school
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in accordance with goals established by the CMS Strategic plan.
