• Develop and update course syllabus; prepare lectures, projects, and assignments; meet all scheduled class periods; maintain regularly scheduled office hours; grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner; submit mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.

• MS or PhD in Biology or a related field;
  University teaching experience preferred; familiarity with UNC Charlotte BIOLOGY curriculum.
• Faculty teaching undergraduate courses: doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline.
• Faculty teaching graduate courses: earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline; UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline.
• Demonstrated competence, effectiveness, and capacity, including undergraduate and graduate degrees, related work experience, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, and continuous documented excellence in teaching.
