Job Summary
The Usher role will be responsible for general customer service related duties, greeting and admitting properly ticketed guests in the venue, directing and guiding to seats, and answering any general venue or event-related questions.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides quality customer service to patrons.
- Provides guest assistance in the seating area.
- Scan or tear tickets as required by event
- Allows or disallows access based on credentials.
- Helps guests locate their assigned seats and reporting any ticketing problems to a supervisor.
- Provide guests with directions or other venue information.
- Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Notifies guests when food, beverages, videotaping and cameras are not allowed during events.
- Will be able to work in all areas of the venue which may require standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs during the event while using a flashlight to guide customers.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays with a minimum availability of 3 events per month during the season.
- May perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people (managers, clients, customers, and the general public).
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs, builds positive relationships with customers and vendors, goes the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs, treats all customers and vendors with highest degree of respect and courtesy, delivers exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Education and Experience
- High School (H. S.) diploma or GED equivalent is preferred; a combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration. At least 1 years of prior job related experience or customer service experience is a plus.
Physical Demands
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate depending on event within the facility.
