Exhibition descriptionIn the exhibition On Terra forming, Charlotte Bastian and Andrea J. Grote create unsettling visual worlds that depict landscape as a system profoundly shaped – and endangered – by human activity. Using photography as a point of departure, both artists develop distinct aesthetic strategies to reveal human interventions in nature. Bastian’s collages and stereoscopic montages merge times and places into paradoxical landscapes of the Anthropocene.
Grote’s installations and photographs address the destructive exploitation of alpine environments and the ambivalence between visual seduction and ecological harm.
