Critical Home Repair Site Supervisor

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region

Full‑time | $56,500 annually

Position Summary

The Critical Home Repair Site Supervisor is responsible for performing and overseeing repair work on project homes while upholding Habitat’s standards of partnership, quality, safety, and teamwork. This role works closely with volunteers, subcontractors, homeowners, and staff to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities Construction & Project Management
  • Perform repair‑related construction tasks including framing, siding, and finish carpentry.
  • Manage all aspects of the repair process from project start through warranty.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of building codes and Habitat standards.
  • Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with Habitat Charlotte, OSHA, and EPA safety standards.
  • Use Habitat administrative tools (construction manual, safety guidelines, volunteer management tools, ordering forms, etc.).
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and support interns, construction assistants, and assistant supervisors.
  • Delegate and monitor tasks for volunteers, homeowners, and team members.
  • Promote partnership and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, staff, volunteers, and donors.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, inspectors, and building suppliers.
  • Respond promptly to warranty work and complete walkthrough reports in a timely manner.
Planning & Coordination
  • Plan daily work activities and ensure necessary materials and personnel are available.
  • Notify appropriate team members when resources are needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to assist other supervisors and respond to homeowner or office requests.
Schedule
  • Monday–Friday
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to work on roofs, in crawl spaces, and in tight areas.
  • Ability to work on uneven ground and outdoors year‑round.
  • Ability to stand for most or all of the workday.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Certifications
  • Construction management experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well with diverse groups.
  • OSHA, Lead RRP, and Asbestos Awareness certifications preferred.
  • Home Inspection License or BPI Certification preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
