- Provides an independent, expert “cold eyes review” of the construction strategy for a $1B+ greenfield construction project funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Defense.
- Delivers objective assessment and recommendations on contracting models, execution plans, and risk areas without being embedded in the day-to-day project team.
- Ensures construction and procurement approaches align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for large-scale mining projects.
- Brings specialized mining and construction experience to evaluate vendor strategies, contract structures, and capital deployment.
- Supports leadership with actionable insights by mid-September to inform strategic decisions and keep the project on schedule and within budget.
- 15+ years of experience in large-scale construction projects, with a strong focus on mining and mining-related infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of construction contracting models (EPC, EPCM, APCM, and hybrid approaches) and their application in mining environments.
- Proven ability to independently assess and critique project execution strategies for capital programs exceeding $500M.
- Strong track record advising on vendor selection, contract negotiation, and execution strategies in the mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Comfortable engaging in short-term, high-impact consulting assignments with tight timelines and executive visibility.
- Able to travel to the Kings Mountain site or other project locations as needed to conduct evaluations, interviews, and strategy reviews.
