Utility Foreman

McAteer Design is seeking an experienced Utility Foreman to lead underground utility crews on commercial and industrial site development projects.

This role is responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

• Supervise daily underground utility operations
• Direct pipe layers, laborers, and equipment operators
• Read and interpret plans, grades, and specifications
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed
• Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
• Maintain jobsite documentation and daily reports
• Enforce company policies and OSHA safety standards

• Minimum 5 years of underground utility experience
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role
• Strong knowledge of water, sewer, and storm systems
• Ability to read construction plans and grades
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work around heavy equipment
