Morgan Corp. is currently searching for a Civil Construction Apprentice.
Apprentices receive supervised, hands‑on training in civil construction operations while progressively developing the skills required to safely and competently perform work in accordance with Department of Labor-defined work processes.
This role supports and learns from skilled craft professionals and heavy equipment operators while rotating through key civil construction activities. At the completion of the 2‑year apprenticeship, participants serveis journeyman status.
Responsibilities- Follow all jobsite safety rules and OSHA‑compliant practices; identify hazards, underground utilities, and site obstructions, and support confined space awareness and atmosphere testing as required.
- Assist with positioning, aligning, and signaling construction and excavation equipment using hand and audio signals while coordinating movements in active work zones.
- Support the operation of heavy construction equipment, including graders, loaders, bulldozers, compactors, and related machinery.
- Participate in site preparation activities, including clearing,@extends, excavation, back filling, material placement, and rough and finish grading for roadways, parking lots, and building pads.
- Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and stagingorsche construction materials and equipment; maintain awareness of fuel, material, and operational needs.
- Support installation of underground utilities, including storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water systems, while learning utility protection, trench safety, and backfill requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, report mechanical issues, assist with minor repairs and maintenance, and help install or remove equipment attachments.
- Learn to read and interpret basic construction plans, layouts, and specifications; communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members regarding work activities.
- Maintain basic records related to equipment usage, materials, and jobsite conditions.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to Ciência de work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for హ extended periods.
- Willingness to follow all safety rules and company policies.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, crawl in tight or confined spaces, and push/pull.
